“It was an unbelievable experience, hard to describe. Your thoughts get sorted in your head. You connect with your inner self! Your whole body reacts. I've never felt like this before. As I said, indescribable”
Feedback gathered at Illuseum, Berlin, 7th May 2025, after Atelier Francesco’s “Blink Time”
Atelier Francesco
LIVE (DE)
Francesco is an artist, music producer, and creative working at the intersection of electronic music and exhibition curation. His work explores the interplay of diverse cultural stimuli, informed by his background in communication studies and a deep curiosity about psychology and perception. This broad interest led him to move beyond music production and, in 2019, to found Eufonia, an interdisciplinary festival centered on sound and spanning an extensive list of research fields, nominated for the Breakthrough of the Year Award in 2020 by the Falling Walls Committee.
As a music producer, he has released nearly 50 records under the aliases Martin Patino and Atelier Francesco on labels including Cocoon, Get Physical, Cadenza Music, Suara, Freerange Records, and Cityfox. He has performed at venues such as The Brooklyn Mirage (Brooklyn, US), D-EDGE (São Paulo, BR), Watergate (Berlin, DE), Propaganda (Moscow, RU), Keith Flack (Fukuoka, JP), among many others.
Francesco has collaborated on numerous projects at the crossroads of science and art, ranging from neuroscience to astrophysics. He created the online series Clubbing: Deconstructed for Google Arts & Culture, examining the parallels between contemporary club culture and ancient rituals, and Larghissimo, an interactive installation developed in collaboration with the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences in Portugal (IASTRO). The piece used 16 speakers to form a sound field, with audience movement influencing the tempo of arpeggiators—sonifying the effect of mass on spacetime and the creation of gravitational waves.
Since 2021, Francesco has focused on developing Sub_Bar—both as an artistic practice and as a sustainable infrastructure for its continued international growth. His low-frequency performance Blink Time has been presented at the WRO Art Biennale (Wroclaw, PL), World Experience Summit (London, UK), ADE Festival (Amsterdam, NL), MAN Museum of Contemporary Art (Nuoro, IT), Illuseum (Berlin, DE), Noname Gallery (Reggio Emilia, IT), and is planned at Sado Island Art Festival (Sado, JP) and Science in the City Festival (Valletta, MT) in 2025.
